Meet The Coach

Matthew Moo
BSc, MBA, RRCA Certified Coach
I am based in Chicago, Illinois. By day, I am an analyst for a higher education consulting firm; by evening, I run.
I only started running intentionally in my 30s. One 10K turned into half marathons. Half marathons turned into full.
I fell in love with running because I enjoy the perspectives it has given me, the places I have seen, and the people I have met along the way. A strong finish time is a bonus.
If you are new to running, I am here to remind you—it is never too late, and your best running years are still ahead of you.
I was not an athlete growing up, and I made plenty of mistakes when I first started running. While training for what would have been my first marathon in Vienna, Austria, I developed a stress fracture in my left tibia, sidelining me for three months. I wished I had a coach to guide me.
That is why, at the beginning of 2025, I took a coaching course— to learn best practices in running, share that knowledge with others, and, one day, learn from you. I am now a certified running coach through the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) and trained in first aid and CPR by the American Red Cross.
No matter where you are in your running journey—whether you are training for your first race, chasing a personal best, or just maintaining your fitness—I’d love to hear your story, share what I know, and help you reach your goals.
I can create structured training plans, suggest cross-training workouts, analyze your running statistics, and provide nutrition and race strategies. For a full list of my coaching services, kindly visit the coaching services page above.
Feel free to reach out with any questions or share what got you into running—I’d love to hear from you!
